Garden talks and events are back!! Here’s a preview of what we’ve got planned for May – flower art for kids and adults + an informative talk about how to set up your own drip irrigation system to help with watering. Hope to see you here at Gill’s!
May 11th – Mother’s Day Flower Art for Kids!
Come celebrate Mom with us on Saturday, May 11th at 10am, just before Mother’s Day! Kids are invited to come make prints for mom with real flowers and plant parts. Using real blooms, greenery, and watercolor paper, kids can make prints by smashing the blooms with a mallet or by dipping the blooms in paint and pressing them onto the paper – or both! We’ll have flower printing stations set up and we’ll be on hand to demonstrate and help out. This event is free and open to kids of all ages!
May 16th – After Hours Pressed Flower Workshop
Join us Thursday evening, May 16th, from 6-7:30pm for our hands-on pressed flower workshop! You’ll receive your own flower press to keep and you’ll have access to tons of blooms from around the garden center. We’re even bringing in some special cut flowers for the occasion. This event is RSVP only, limited to 25 guests, with a fee of $25. Refreshments and good vibes provided! RSVP here.
May 25th – DIY Drip Irrigation Systems with Harry Villarreal
Join Gill’s Landscape Designer, Harry Villarreal for a fun and informative talk about how to set up and use drip and soaker irrigation systems in your landscape. We use a lot of drip systems on our landscape projects because they’re super efficient and easy to regulate. They get just the right amount of water right where it needs to go! With a few simple parts and some know-how, you can set up your own automatic drip system to make watering a breeze. This event is free and open to everyone!
