Saturday, September 13th – Fall Veggie Gardening Talk Part 1 with DeAnna & Wyatt
Join us Saturday, September 13th at 10:00am here at Gill’s for Part 1 of our Fall Veggie Gardening series. Gill’s veggie gardening experts DeAnna Baumgartner and Wyatt Page will lead an informative talk on all things fall veggies. Part 1 will focus on early fall season crops like tomatoes, peppers, and squashes. We’ll do some fun giveaways and field all your veggie gardening questions!

Thursday, September 18th – Cenizo Garden Drawing Club
The Cenizo Garden Drawing Club welcomes art and plant enthusiasts to an open & friendly gardening community to practice their drawing skills and get to know the plants around them. Join us as we share gardening tips and draw specific plants or gardening still lifes. No drawing experience? No problem! We welcome all levels. Each session is led by a professional artist to help your progress if you choose. Drawing boards and chairs will be provided. After you RSVP, you will be emailed a suggested drawing supply list.

Saturday, September 20th – Gourd House Painting!
Natural gourd birdhouses are the best! They host a wide variety and birds can use the natural seeds and pulp inside to make their nests. Join us at Gill’s on Saturday, September 20th from 11am-1pm for a fun garden art project – painting gourd houses! We’ll provide a pre-drilled gourd with a leather hanging strap plus all the painting supplies.

Saturday, October 4th – Fall Plant Fest at Gill’s!
Attention gardeners of all ages! We’re hosting our first ever Fall Plant Fest at Gill’s! We’ll have our friends Mimi’s Mini Farm with their farm animal petting zoo, pumpkin painting for kids, fall photo ops, tons of fall plant specials, and lovely fall themed drinks from The Brewery Coffee Cart!

Saturday, October 11th – Kids Wildflower Seed Shaker Project
Did you know that October is prime time to sow wildflower seeds? Bring the kiddos to assemble and decorate their own wildflower seed shaker! Just add seeds and shake them wherever you want to see beautiful native wildflowers emerge next spring!

Thursday, October 16th – Pumpkin Succulent Potting Workshop
Join us for a fun evening workshop potting up succulents inside carved-out pumpkins! Create the perfect Halloween decor which can be planted in a planter or a container after the holiday! We’ll have all the supplies on hand and we’ll be here to assist. Come make a mess with us!

Saturday, October 25th – Native Plant Society of Texas Talk + Native Plant Sale
In honor of Texas Native Plant Week, we’re hosting the South TX Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas for an informative garden talk. Bring your native + pollinator questions! Plus, we’ll be having a big native plant sale all weekend. There’s a reason why native plant week is held in October – that’s when so many of our natives look their best!

Saturday, November 8th – Kids Xmas Tree Stump Ornament Project
As we all patiently await Christmas, we wanted to invite kiddos to come and create ornaments with real Xmas tree stump pieces! We’ll provide the pre-drilled wooden ornament pieces and art supplies for kids to make their fun creations. Just in time to hang on this year’s tree!

Thursday, November 13th – Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop
How about some taxidermy with plants?! Join us on the evening of November 13th for our first ever Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop! Participants will mount a nice staghorn fern on a wooden plank using natural moss and wire.

Thursday, December 4th – Holiday Card Making Workshop
We love finding cool and unique holiday cards, but nothing’s better than making your own! On the evening of December 4th, we’ll gather in the greenhouse to create all kinds of personalized holiday cards for your loved ones. We’ll provide everything you need – natural greenery, nice pre-folded cardstock, envelopes, and art supplies.

Thursday, December 11th – Holiday Wreath and Garland Workshop
As we approach the holidays, join us at Gill’s to build your own gorgeous natural wreath and dried fruit garland strands! Yes it’s nostalgic, and yes it’s fun! We’ll provide wreath frames + lots of cedar and evergreen garland, plus mini lights, ornaments, and other decor. Also, this year we’re drying fruit to create simple and beautiful dried fruit garland! Sure to be festive and lots of fun.
